Online Therapy
Is online therapy effective?
Yes. Research shows that video-based psychological therapy can
be effective for several common mental health concerns, with
outcomes comparable to face-to-face therapy for many people.
Manahsparsh has provided online therapy for over 12 years,
supporting thousands of clients. We also find that the
accessibility and convenience of online sessions can make it
easier for clients to attend consistently and continue with therapy.
How do Online Therapy sessions work?
Manahsparsh conducts online therapy sessions through
Microsoft Teams.
Once your therapy is scheduled:
-
Download Microsoft Teams and create or
log into your account.
-
We'll share your therapist's details so you can find and
add them on Teams.
-
You'll have a dedicated space and chat with your
therapist, where your conversation history and
relevant communication can stay in one place between sessions.
-
Your therapist will message you shortly before your appointment.
-
At your scheduled time, your therapist will start a
private video call through Teams.
You don't need to be technically skilled.
If you can use WhatsApp and make a video call, you can
generally manage an online therapy session.

A phone, tablet or computer with a working
camera and microphone.

A stable internet connection.
-
A private, quiet space where you can speak
freely without being overheard.
-
Headphones or earphones if they help with privacy or sound quality.
-
A little uninterrupted time before and after the session.
You don't need to prepare a perfect explanation of what's wrong.
Your therapist will help you work through it.
How long is an online therapy session, how often should I have therapy,
and how many sessions will I need?
Manahsparsh therapy sessions are generally
45–50 minutes long.
We typically recommend one session per week.
There is no fixed number of sessions or guaranteed
timeline for change. Many clients may work towards meaningful
change over approximately 10–12 sessions, while
others may need longer or shorter support depending on their
concerns, goals, circumstances and progress.
You may notice changes at different stages—early shifts could
be seen as quickly as in the 3rd session.
Your therapist will work with you to
set goals, review progress and adjust the course of therapy
as needed
.
Is online therapy private and confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of professional
therapy at Manahsparsh.
What you discuss in therapy is treated as private and handled
with appropriate professional care.
To protect your privacy, we recommend attending sessions from
a private space, using a personal device and
a secure internet connection, and avoiding public places where
others may overhear you.
Confidentiality has
specific legal and professional limits.
Information may need to be disclosed in circumstances such as
certain legal proceedings or where there is a serious risk of
harm to yourself or others.
We will explain the relevant confidentiality and consent
arrangements when you begin therapy.
